Abstract
This research is motivated by findings related to the understanding of the basic physics concepts of prospective physics teacher students that demonstrate the conceptual difficulties of Basic Physics course. The existence of these findings is the basis in determining alternative solution plans that support the achievement of more optimal learning outcomes, one of which is the development of Pre-Class Tutorial (PCT). The method used is descriptive . As many as 82 third semester students in the Physics Education Study Program were involved in collecting research data. Improved understanding of concepts is identified from the average achievement of student scores on the Basic Physics unit test I. The research findings indicate the use of pre-class tutorials can help improve the understanding of Physics concepts of prospective Physics teacher.
